The most common cognitive impairment associated with coronavirus occurs in older people.

Therapist Daria Khavkina warned that in people suffering from chronic diseases, memory impairment after suffering a coronavirus can be quite long or completely irreversible.

“In patients with chronic diseases of the cardiovascular and central nervous system, memory impairment against the background of infections with pronounced symptoms often progresses, may become irreversible,” she told the Izvestia newspaper .

The medic noted that the most common cognitive impairment in coronavirus occurs in older people who do not have immunity against COVID, suffering from type 2 diabetes and coronary heart disease.
